Identify the property before the work
Ashley is a documented Baton Rouge subdivision: a City-Parish council agenda identifies Ashley Subdivision in property descriptions. That establishes the local name, not the condition of homes throughout the area. Include the actual city, ZIP code and any subdivision detail you already know when describing your own project.
This page helps organize several small repairs into one useful brief. My Baton Rouge Handyman is a referral portal; an Ashley address does not establish that a provider is available.
Make one row for each task
Walk through the rooms and describe the observable issue. “Bedroom door rubs the jamb near the top” is more useful than “fix bedroom.” “Two damaged wall areas beside the hallway door, each about the size of a hand” gives a clearer starting point than “paint touch-ups.”
For each item record the location, approximate extent, when it began, previous work and desired result. Separate a loose fitting from missing material or recurring damage. Use the project checklist to keep the information together.
Set priorities and dependencies
Group the list into work that needs assessment first, repairs you want completed soon and optional finishing. A stain or repeated crack needs its cause considered before someone prices a cosmetic patch. A replacement fitting should be checked for compatibility before a purchase.
Ask whether one provider can assess every item. Several unrelated tasks may require different skills or separate visits. A bundled list is a way to describe your priorities, not a promise that everything fits one appointment.
Define what finished means
For painting and patching, specify whether the goal is a local touch-up or a complete wall. For trim, explain whether matching the existing profile matters. Include cleanup, packaging removal and responsibility for buying materials in the estimate discussion.
Compare proposals using the same list and mark exclusions explicitly. Read the cost guide before comparing totals. You can submit a project enquiry for possible referral; scope, qualifications, availability and price must be confirmed with an independent provider.
