Identify every item
Include the manufacturer, model or product link, number of items and the intended room. A desk with drawers, a bed with storage and a simple table involve different parts and instructions. State whether the packages are unopened, partly assembled or being reassembled after a move.
Check what documentation you have and describe any missing or damaged parts. A provider needs to know whether the task is ordinary assembly, correcting previous work or evaluating a product problem. Contacting the seller about missing components may be a separate step.
Describe the route into the room
Say where the boxes are now and where the completed furniture should go. Include stairs, restricted access and whether the room has enough clear working space. Ask whether carrying packages, moving existing furniture and final positioning are included. Do not assume an assembly price includes a household move.
Discuss attachment requirements
Some products include manufacturer requirements for wall attachment or other restraints. Share those instructions and ask the provider to assess both the item and the installation setting. Agree the completion checklist
A useful proposal identifies which products will be assembled, whether missing parts prevent completion, how the finished position will be agreed and what happens to the packaging. Keep instructions, spare parts and product information available for the final handover.
If there are several identical items, list the quantity explicitly. If a product has optional sections, state which configuration you want. Changes to the selected configuration can change the work.
Can a partly assembled item be finished?
It may be possible, but the provider needs to understand its current condition. Explain what was completed, what stopped progress and whether any parts were altered or damaged. Reworking an assembly can differ from starting with an unopened product.
Is packaging removal automatically included?
No inclusion should be assumed. Ask whether the proposed price covers unpacking, keeping packaging for a possible return and removal after the work is accepted. The project cost guide explains how to compare these details.
